Announcing Lions Gate Leos - Local!  This fall we are back at the site of the 2010 National Specialty, the Lions Gate Hotel & Conference Center in Sacramento (McClellan) CA.  Due to unavoidable conflicts with dates and availability at our usual haunt, the Colusa County Fairgrounds, we thought we’d take this opportunity to revisit the site of Lions Gate Leos…

This year also continues a tradition that began last fall; a weekend which combines our traditional Club Show with an AKC pointed Regional Specialty. Combining the best of old and new, allowing for that same family atmosphere where newbies are welcome, can get comfortable with showing in a more casual environment, get a written evaluation of their Leo (at the Club Show) and earn points towards their AKC championship (at the AKC show).  Additionally, we are VERY excited because we have a newly Approved AKC Leonberger judge!  The LCA's own Mrs. Agi Hejja has completed her Provisional requirements and will be judging our AKC show, while founding club member Mary Decher will judge our Club Show.

We have negotiated a fabulous rate at The Lions Gate Hotel of $82/night which includes the full hot breakfast bar. The group code is LEON and here's the link:

Important show schedule notes:
On Saturday 11/17 NCLC Club Show
On Sunday 11/18 LCA/AKC Regional Specialty

Our show will be outdoors so please remember to bring shade covering for the dogs. The weather in usually ranges from high 70's to low 60's and there is always the possibility of rain so be prepared for anything.   For those that attended the 2010 National Specialty, please note that the show will take place much closer to the hotel lobby than it did in 2010.  You will be able to walk out of your room and right to the show site.

Everyone is welcome, show dog or not, to come and enjoy this NCLC/LCA Regional event for Leonbergers.

We are excited to see our friends both old and new and look forward to the rekindling of our Lions Gate Leos ambiance from the 25th Anniversary National Specialty in 2010.
